My Personal Pros and Cons of Sleep Comfort Beds

I have been suffering with low back pain now for a few years. This is why I am taking a closer look at sleep comfort beds. Fortunately, a regular visit to a local chiropractor has helped me to manage the back pain in a significant way. Still, I find that my back seems to hurt worse in the mornings. I even use several pillows to try and be as comfortable as possible. Most of us are either back or side sleepers. I am a side sleeper and find it extremely difficult to fall asleep flat on my back.

In order to try an solve this morning backache, I have been taking a closer look at the different types of beds that are out there. I keep coming back to sleep comfort beds for a few reasons. I have done quite a bit of research on sleep comfort beds so I thought I would share all of this information in one place. Maybe it can be helpful to you.

The Advantages of Sleep Comfort Beds

1. You are in control

I like that I get to test out and control the level of firmness that I have with a sleep comfort bed. Instead of traditional coiled springs, they have adjustable air chambers. By selecting certain numbers you can control how firm or soft the bed is. The idea is if you are tossing and turning quite a bit during the night, select a different level of comfort and see if it helps you to fall asleep. You have total control over how your mattress feels.

2. You can make it personal

My wife and I have totally different sleep patterns. She can fall asleep quickly, I toss and turn alot. She lacks a flatter pillow than I do. She like a more firm bed and I like a softer bed. With most sleep comfort beds you have the ability to choose your own level of comfort. Most sleep number beds come with two separate air chambers, meaning that you can have one side of the bed firm and the other remains soft. This is ideal for couples who sleep much different like we do.

3. You can reduce your pressure points

This is probably my biggest challenge since I am a side sleeper. I have woken up in the past with serious hip pain. The hip area can be a real pressure point with traditional coil mattresses. Other potential pressure points when sleeping can be the neck, shoulders, ankles and so on. Being able to test and make adjustments until I no longer wake up with hip pain is a big plus for me. This reduces my amount of tossing and turning in the middle of the night.

The Disadvantages of Sleep Comfort Beds

1. You can experience air loss over time

For those who have had sleep comfort beds for a long period of time have complaints about the possible longevity of sleep comfort beds. To be fair, this is not in every case, but some have reported a loss of air in the mattress over time. Still, most sleep comfort beds come with a 20-year warranty.

2. A possible trench in the middle of the bed can occur

A few have complained about a trench-like feel in the middle of the bed. This is usually due to the fact that one side is extra firm while the other is much softer. You can eliminate the trench feeling by adjusting the settings on the bed.

3. The cost of a sleep comfort bed can be quite high for some

There is no question that the sleep comfort bed is an investment. At the same time, if it offers you a good night’s rest it may be a no-brainer decision for you. We are going to give it a go and see how it works out for us over time.
